Choosing an EMF bed canopy? Match your sleep setup to the right protection with our guide.
How to Choose the Best EMF Bed Canopy
An EMF bed canopy — also called a Faraday bed canopy — creates a shielded sleeping enclosure that deflects up to 99% of wireless radiation from WiFi, cell towers, smart meters, and other sources you can't control. It's the most comprehensive EMF protection you can add to your bedroom.
Here's how to pick the right one.
Why an EMF Bed Canopy?
You've already done the easy things — moved your phone out of the bedroom, turned off WiFi at night, replaced your digital alarm clock. But some EMF sources are beyond your control: your neighbor's WiFi, nearby cell towers, smart meters on the other side of your wall.
A Faraday bed canopy shields you from all of these simultaneously, for the entire 8 hours you sleep. Your body uses sleep for repair and recovery — giving it a break from external EMF during this critical time can make a meaningful difference.

SYB Faraday Bed Canopy vs. SYB Serenity Canopy
We offer two canopy options designed for different needs:
- SYB Faraday Bed Canopy: Our flagship canopy. Made from 100% silver-coated nylon, it shields against EMF on frequencies up to 26 GHz (including 5G). Comes with two floor mats for complete six-sided protection — top, four sides, and bottom. This prevents EMF from entering beneath the bed and bouncing around inside the canopy.
- SYB Faraday Serenity Canopy: A lighter-weight EMF bed canopy option with a softer, more breathable fabric. Designed for those who want Faraday cage-style protection with a focus on comfort and airflow. Includes floor mats and ceiling mount kit. See the product page for detailed shielding test results.
Six-Sided Protection Matters
Many shielding canopies on the market only cover five sides — the top and four walls — leaving the floor open. This is a problem: EMF can enter from below through the mattress and reflect off the canopy walls, potentially increasing your exposure inside the enclosure.
Both SYB canopies address this with included floor mats. Place them under your bed to seal the enclosure from all six directions. This is a critical feature to look for in any EMF canopy.
Mounting: Ceiling vs. Frame
You have two options for setting up your canopy:
- Ceiling mount: Every SYB canopy includes a ceiling mount kit. You suspend the canopy from hooks in your ceiling — simple installation, clean look, no extra furniture needed.
- Freestanding frame: If you prefer not to drill into your ceiling (or if you rent), a bed canopy frame provides a freestanding structure. Note: frames are sold separately.
Bed Size
Make sure to match your canopy to your bed size. Check the product specifications for available sizes and dimensions. The canopy needs to fully enclose your mattress with enough room for the floor mats underneath.
Quick Decision Guide
- Maximum shielding (including 5G frequencies)? → SYB Faraday Bed Canopy
- Lighter, more breathable option? → SYB Serenity Canopy
- Renting or can't drill into ceiling? → Add a freestanding canopy frame
- Not sure canopy living is for you? → Start with other bedroom EMF reduction steps first, then upgrade to a canopy when ready
