The power cord behind your monitor or computer is energized wiring that runs close to your legs, and an unshielded cord gives off an electric field along its whole length.

This shielded power cable wraps the conductors in aluminum Mylar foil. Grounded through the plug, the shield drains the cord's electric field to ground instead of letting it radiate into the room.

One end is a standard 3-prong plug. The other is the computer-style C13 connector, so the cord replaces the ordinary power cable on desktop computers, many monitors, and some TVs and stereos.

The 18 AWG cord is fully molded for durability, rated for 125 volts and 10 amps, and comes in black.

Aluminum Mylar foil shielding around the conductors

18 AWG conductors

3-prong grounded plug (NEMA 5-15P) on the wall end

IEC-320 C13 connector on the device end, the standard computer and monitor style

Replaces the power cable on desktop computers, many monitors and some TVs and stereos

Fully molded design for durability

Rated for 125 volts and 10 amps

UL listed, CSA approved, RoHS compliant

Black

Two lengths: 6 ft and 12 ft

Unplug the device and the old power cord. Plug the C13 end into the device's power inlet. Plug the 3-prong end into a properly grounded wall outlet. The shield drains through the ground pin, so it depends on it. A plug-in outlet tester from any hardware store will confirm the outlet is wired correctly. Keep the device's power draw within the cord's 10 amp rating. Built for North American outlets (US and Canada): it uses a standard grounded three-prong US plug and is not designed for 230V outlets or other plug types.

About ElectraHealth

ElectraHealth was founded in 2008 by Shaun Kranish, known in the EMF community as "The EMF Explorer," and grew up around practical tools for reducing electric fields and dirty electricity at home.

Since 2025 the company has been owned by Brian Hoyer, the EMF consultant behind Shielded Healing and The Shielding Shop. Its shielded power cords, power strips and grounded chargers are designed to reduce the electric fields that ordinary cords and two-prong chargers carry into the places where you work and sleep.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a shielded power cord do?
A foil shield around the conductors is grounded through the plug, so the cord's electric field drains to ground instead of radiating from the cord. An unshielded cord has nothing to drain it.
Which devices does the C13 end fit?
C13 is the standard computer-style power inlet, found on desktop computers, many monitors, some TVs and stereos, and similar equipment. If your device uses a different inlet, see the eShield power cords, which come with C5 and C7 ends.
Does it work in an outlet without a ground?
No. The shielding drains through the ground pin of the plug, so an ungrounded outlet gives it nowhere to send the field. A plug-in outlet tester from any hardware store shows whether an outlet is wired correctly.
Is it rated for my device?
The cord is rated for 125 volts and 10 amps and uses 18 AWG conductors. Check your device's power draw against that rating before swapping it in.
Who makes it?
ElectraHealth, founded in 2008 by Shaun Kranish and owned since 2025 by Brian Hoyer, founder of Shielded Healing and The Shielding Shop.
