Every unshielded power cord on your desk or nightstand is a line of electric field running within arm's reach.

eShield power cords replace them with a shielded cord in a powder white finish, so the field drains to ground instead of radiating from the cord, and the cords blend into an office or bedroom.

Four versions cover the common inlets. A C13 in 18 gauge suits computer monitors and office equipment, and a C13 in 16 gauge suits higher-amperage devices with motors. A C5 in 18 gauge covers the three-lobed inlet some adapters use, and a black C7 in 20 gauge suits laptop chargers, game consoles and audio equipment.

Match the end to your device's power inlet and swap the cord.

Shielded cord that replaces an unshielded power cord

Powder white finish

C13 18 AWG: for computer monitors and office equipment

C13 16 AWG: for higher-amperage devices with motors

C5 18 AWG: for the three-lobed inlet some adapters use

C7 20 AWG in black: for laptop chargers, game consoles and audio equipment

C13 fits desktop computers, printers, copiers, A/V equipment and large TVs

C7 fits projectors, external hard drives, streaming boxes and set-top boxes

Four versions in one listing

Pairs with the eShield surge protector and extension cords

Look at your device's power inlet and choose the matching end: C13, C5 or C7. For a C13 inlet, use 18 gauge for monitors and office equipment and 16 gauge for devices with motors. Unplug the device, remove the old cord and plug the eShield cord into the inlet. Plug the wall end into a properly grounded outlet. The shield drains to ground, so it depends on one. A plug-in outlet tester from any hardware store will confirm the outlet is wired correctly. Built for North American outlets (US and Canada): it uses a standard grounded three-prong US plug and is not designed for 230V outlets or other plug types.

About ElectraHealth

ElectraHealth was founded in 2008 by Shaun Kranish, known in the EMF community as "The EMF Explorer," and grew up around practical tools for reducing electric fields and dirty electricity at home.

Since 2025 the company has been owned by Brian Hoyer, the EMF consultant behind Shielded Healing and The Shielding Shop. Its shielded power cords, power strips and grounded chargers are designed to reduce the electric fields that ordinary cords and two-prong chargers carry into the places where you work and sleep.

Unshielded power cords run electric fields right across your desk. eShield power cords replace them with a shielded cord in powder white, matched to the inlet on your device.

Choose C13 in 18 gauge for monitors and office equipment, C13 in 16 gauge for devices with motors, C5 in 18 gauge, or a black C7 in 20 gauge for laptop chargers and consoles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which end do I need, C13, C5 or C7?
Look at the inlet on your device. C13 is the standard computer and monitor style, C5 is the three-lobed inlet found on some laptop adapters, and C7 is the two-slot figure-eight inlet on many chargers and consoles.
Should I choose 16 gauge or 18 gauge for a C13 cord?
Use 18 gauge for computer monitors and miscellaneous office equipment. Use 16 gauge for higher-amperage devices that run motors.
What does a shielded power cord do?
The shield around the conductors drains the cord's electric field to ground, so the cord does not radiate it into the room the way an unshielded cord does.
Does it work in an outlet without a ground?
No. The shielding drains through the ground pin of the plug, so an ungrounded outlet gives it nowhere to send the field. A plug-in outlet tester from any hardware store shows whether an outlet is wired correctly.
Who makes it?
ElectraHealth, founded in 2008 by Shaun Kranish and owned since 2025 by Brian Hoyer, founder of Shielded Healing and The Shielding Shop.
