A plastic power strip sits a few inches from your hands all day, and every cord plugged into it carries an electric field with it.

The Desktop SafeCharge Power Dock replaces it with a grounded metal housing in white and silver. Four AC outlets, two USB-A ports and one USB-C port sit behind that grounded shell, and the 6-foot power cord is shielded too.

The USB ports are grounded too, so a phone charges through a cable that is not picking up stray AC. An adjustable clamp mounts the dock to a standing desk.

Pair it with shielded power cords so the shielding runs from the wall to every device on your desk.

Grounded metal housing in white and silver

Four AC outlets rated 120V, up to 10 amps (1200 watts) combined

Three USB ports: two USB-A and one USB-C

Grounded USB ports, so charging cables are not left carrying stray AC

All USB ports deliver up to 5V/3.1A

Shielded 6-foot power cord

Adjustable clamp mount for standing desks

Mount can be removed or flipped for other setups

Outlets and USB ports stay within reach at your desk

Works with shielded power cords for the devices you plug in

Plug the dock into a properly grounded wall outlet. The shielding drains to the ground pin, so it only works through a grounded outlet. A plug-in outlet tester from any hardware store will confirm the outlet is wired correctly. Clamp the dock to the edge of your desk, or remove or flip the mount to place it where you need it. Plug devices into the AC outlets, keeping the combined load at or under 10 amps (1200 watts). Use the USB ports for phones, tablets and other devices. Replace the cords on the devices you plug in with shielded power cords to carry the shielding along the whole run. Built for North American outlets (US and Canada): it uses a standard grounded three-prong US plug and is not designed for 230V outlets or other plug types.

Most desks run on a plastic power strip with unshielded cords. This dock puts four AC outlets, two USB-A ports and one USB-C port in a grounded metal housing, with a shielded 6-foot cord.

Four outlets share up to 10 amps (1200 watts), and each USB port delivers up to 5V/3.1A. An adjustable clamp mounts it to a standing desk.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does a grounded power strip change what is on my desk?
The metal housing and the shield around the cord are connected to ground, so the electric field from the live conductors drains away instead of radiating into the room. A body-voltage meter can read lower near it than near a plastic strip.
Does it work in an outlet without a ground?
No. The shielding drains through the ground pin of the plug, so an ungrounded outlet gives it nowhere to send the field. A plug-in outlet tester from any hardware store shows whether an outlet is wired correctly.
Does it protect against power surges?
The product details list outlets, USB ratings and a shielded cord. They do not list surge protection, so treat it as a shielded power dock, not a surge protector. For surge protection, see the eShield 9-Outlet Surge Protector.
Do the cords I plug into it get shielded too?
No. The dock and its own cord are shielded. An ordinary cord plugged into it still carries its own field, so pair the dock with shielded power cords for the devices on it.
Who makes it?
ElectraHealth, founded in 2008 by Shaun Kranish and owned since 2025 by Brian Hoyer, founder of Shielded Healing and The Shielding Shop.
