The cable you hold while a phone charges is attached to an adapter that, in many designs, lets stray AC voltage ride onto the cable. You are holding that voltage in your hand, and it sits at your bedside if you charge there.

The SafeCharger is a charger with a real 3-prong plug. The ground pin gives that stray AC energy a path to ground, so only DC power travels down the USB cable to the device.

Two versions cover different needs. The Hub 45 has three USB-A ports and one 45-watt USB-C port. The UltraMac 63 has one USB-A port and one 63-watt USB-C port for laptops and faster charging.

Real 3-prong plug that connects the charger to ground

Drains stray AC energy to ground so only DC power reaches the USB cable

Hub 45: three USB-A ports plus one 45-watt USB-C port

UltraMac 63: one USB-A port plus one 63-watt USB-C port

UltraMac 63 is the version for MacBook-class laptops, up to 63 watts

Works with any device that charges over USB

Plugs into a desk, kitchen or bedside outlet like any plug-in charger

Pairs with other grounded and shielded ElectraHealth products

Two versions: Hub 45 and UltraMac 63

Carries The Shielding Shop name, a sister brand of ElectraHealth

Plug the SafeCharger into a properly grounded wall outlet. Its grounding works through the third pin, so an ungrounded outlet gives it nothing to drain to. Check the outlet with a plug-in outlet tester if you are not sure how it is wired. Connect your USB cable to the port that matches your device: USB-C for a laptop or fast phone charging, USB-A for older devices. Charge as usual. Choose the UltraMac 63 for laptops and anything that needs more than 45 watts. Built for North American outlets (US and Canada): it uses a standard grounded three-prong US plug and is not designed for 230V outlets or other plug types.

About ElectraHealth

ElectraHealth was founded in 2008 by Shaun Kranish, known in the EMF community as "The EMF Explorer," and grew up around practical tools for reducing electric fields and dirty electricity at home.

Since 2025 the company has been owned by Brian Hoyer, the EMF consultant behind Shielded Healing and The Shielding Shop. Its shielded power cords, power strips and grounded chargers are designed to reduce the electric fields that ordinary cords and two-prong chargers carry into the places where you work and sleep.

Many phone chargers have no connection to ground. The SafeCharger has a real 3-prong plug that drains stray AC to ground, so only DC power reaches your USB cable.

Choose the Hub 45, with three USB-A ports and one 45-watt USB-C port, or the UltraMac 63, with one USB-A port and one 63-watt USB-C port for laptops.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is a grounded charger different from my regular one?
Many chargers have no connection to ground, so stray AC energy can end up on the cable and the device. The SafeCharger uses the ground pin to drain that energy, so only DC power goes through the cable.
Will it work in an outlet without a ground?
No. The grounding depends on a properly grounded outlet, and an ungrounded one gives it no path to drain to. A plug-in outlet tester from any hardware store shows whether an outlet is wired correctly.
Which version should I buy?
The Hub 45 gives you four ports, three USB-A and one 45-watt USB-C. The UltraMac 63 gives you two, one USB-A and one 63-watt USB-C, and is the pick for laptops and MacBooks.
Does it charge as fast as the charger that came with my device?
Charging speed is set by the port: up to 45 watts on the Hub 45 USB-C and up to 63 watts on the UltraMac 63 USB-C. Compare those figures with your device's own charging requirement.
Who makes it?
ElectraHealth, founded in 2008 by Shaun Kranish and owned since 2025 by Brian Hoyer, founder of Shielded Healing and The Shielding Shop, whose name this charger carries.
