Q:  Where is the shielding material integrated in the beanie?

A: The shielding fabric is incorporated into the middle layer.

Q: For how long does the radiation protection last?

A: The beanie should provide protection at the same levels achieved in our lab testing as long as it is in one piece with no holes or tears. 

Q: How can I clean this beanie?

A: Instead of machine washing- we recommend hand washing your SafeSleeve RF Beanie in warm water with a mild, bleach-free detergent.  When drying the beanie, do not wring it but rather hang the blanket to air dry completely.  Lastly, we do not recommend ironing the beanie.

Q: What is the beanie is made of? 

A: The outer layer is a synthetic blend and the inner liner is 95% bamboo and 5% spandex. The middle layer is a silver lined radiation shielding fabric.
