Standard extension cords give off an electric field along their entire length, often right past a bed or sofa. These cords have a grounded foil layer around the wires to drain it to ground.
16 AWG bare copper, NEMA 5-15 connector, ETL certified, in powder white. Choose 10, 15 or 20 feet.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the extension cord shield the cords I plug into it?
No. The shielding covers only the extension cord itself. A regular, unshielded cord plugged into it still gives off its own electric field, so pair it with shielded power cords for your lamps and devices.
What gauge are the cords?
They are 16 AWG, with bare copper wire.
Does it work in an outlet without a ground?
No. The shielding drains through the ground pin of the plug, so an ungrounded outlet gives it nowhere to send the field. A plug-in outlet tester from any hardware store shows whether an outlet is wired correctly.
Which length should I choose?
Pick the shortest that reaches. They come in 10, 15 and 20 feet, and a shorter cord means less energized wire in your room.
